Finding the md5sum of a file in Solaris

Solaris does not have a md5sum command, it has /usr/bin/digest

to get the same result use /usr/bin/digest -a md5 -v filename

or, save the following shell script to /usr/bin/md5sum

#!/bin/sh #: JCore 05/10/2017 /usr/bin/digest -a md5 -v $1 exit
then chmod 755 /usr/bin/md5sum
